A walk through the bazaars of Jaipur

About the walk

Jaipur has a long-held reputation for arts and crafts, and your walk will take you to the craft bazaar to see local artisans at work with gold, silver, gems and jewels, before you’re accompanied to a 150 year old townhouse for tea with the resident family in their beautiful drawing room. You’ll have the opportunity to sample a range of India snacks and local sweets, before heading away to burn at least a few calories off as you explore a deserted haveli (historic mansion), where superb frescoes tell of the property’s lavish history. Stroll through nearby markets, revelling in the riot of textiles, turbans, flowers and perfumes, and perhaps tucking into a little street food if you still have room!

Sahapedia, in collaboration with Royal Rajasthan Foundation, hosted the Heritage Walk Training Programme in Jaipur for women from economically weaker sections of society to become walk/experience leaders in Feb-Mar 2021. In its first edition in Jaipur, we have collaborated with the Business and Community Foundation, Centre for Equity Studies, and Virasat Experience to train women from economically weaker sections of society to become walk/experience leaders.

Join us for this unique walk led by Aarti, our trainee from the program and encourage her in her efforts.

This guided tour is free and is a physical tour.
