South Mumbai Art Walk

About the walk

This event is ticketed.

Mumbai fosters art, culture and creativity in its every nook and corner and exploring this can be a magical experience. The purpose of this tour is to familiarize you with the art and architecture of South Mumbai.  The walk will start with a discussion on the history of the Asiatic society of Bombay with the beautiful building in the background. At the Jehangir Art Gallery and the Delhi Art Gallery, the walk will introduce you to the street artists who sit outside and sell their quirky, beautiful and unique artwork, after which we will proceed to the exhibitions inside.

The Kenneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue (the Blue Synagogue) is next on our itinerary. We will learn about the history of the Jewish Community in Mumbai. The walk will cover the Horniman Circle, the K.R Kama Institute and the David Sassoon Library briefly . The walk is essentially to introduce individuals to the conjunction between art and urban spaces.
