Jagavallabh Derasar - More Than Just a Relic from the Past

About the walk

Tucked behind the quiet bylanes of the overly busy Relief Road that cuts across the Ahmedabad walled city is the famed Zaveri Wad area. And adjoining it lies the quaint Nisha pol. The exquisite Jagavallabh Derasar has been sitting here with elan for a few hundred years. Woven into its own golden legacy is the history of the Mughals in Ahmedabad. Starting from Akbar the great, Jagad-Guru Heer Surishwarji, Shantidas Zaveri and all of their respective successors; the inspiring episodes from the lives of these legendary men connected with this Derasar are plenty!
Join us as we decode some of the many breathtaking artistic representations adorning this exquisite 400-year-old Derasar. However, nothing can remotely compete with the tranquility that envelopes you when your eyes connect with the captivating eyes of the subtly smiling JagaVallabh Dada, as he is fondly known among the locals.

Come and experience the magic for yourself!

This guided tour is free.
