Moti Mahal: Forgotten Palace of Daraganj

About the walk

Located at Daraganj, the oldest suburb of Prayagraj, Moti Mahal is considered one of the oldest buildings of the city. A palatial haveli built as a royal residence for Raja Todarmal, the finance minister and one of the Navratnas in the court of Emperor Akbar.  It also functioned as the Mughal secretariat and houses a huge stable for horses and a huge temple of Ganesha made in Mughal architectural style.

Join us on this walk where we will be visiting this heritage building, talk about the evolutionary journey of Mughal architecture and chat with 17th generation heirs of Raja Todaramal over some tea & snacks.
